Welcome
Early Christmas Present for Itu Asau College from Germany
The German Embassy has completed a partnership project called “Laptops for the Computer Lab at Itu Asau College”, which was celebrated with a special ceremony in Asau on the 15th December 2022. For this project the German Embassy in Wellington contributed seventeen new laptops as well as two new air conditioning units for the Computer Lab. The total contribution was valued at just over $23,000, Samoan Tala.
A representative of the German Honorary Consul’s Office in Samoa Afoa Stefan Szegedi stated “In October we were invited to the college and saw that the computer lap had very limited number laptops for the students to learn. As a result through the assistance of the Germany Embassy in Wellington we were able to provide the new laptops and air conditioning units for the computer lab. These laptops will hopefully provide the tools necessary for the children to become successful in future.”
Itu Asau College Principal So’oalo Rikisone Selulo expressed his sincere appreciation for the project “Itu Asau College was not able to have access to a computer lab in the previous years. This year, we look at the higher number of students taking computer subjects but the problem is the resources are not there to cater for their needs. Hence, we seek assistance from the German Embassy in Wellington and they accepted it. We are so greatfull for those people for their generosity. These laptops will definitely add beauty to the newest computer lab we have just completed this year”
