Women's empowerment
The German Embassy in Wellington runs a programme for small scale co-operation projects in the Cook Islands, Fiji, Kiribati, Niue, Samoa, Tonga and Tuvalu. The project serves directly the basic needs of the most deprived social groups and have apositive and sustainable impact on the living conditions of the target group like projects referring to education, vocational training, hygiene standards, medical provisions. Gender equity aspects are to be taken into consideration as women and men should benefit from the project to the same extent.
