Assistance of the German Embassy´s small scale Programme after severe Tropical Cyclone YASA

After severe Tropical Cyclone YASA had destroyed most of the cocoa plants and facilities in Vanua Levu, the chipper-mulcher purchased with the assistance of the German Embassy´s small scale programme – helps to restore and enhance the capacity of KokoMana to conduct community outreach activities – specifically by promoting the sustainable production of cocoa in partner communities.KokoMana  is a cocoa farm and chocolate factory in Savusavu/Vanua Levu, Fiji, working in the agritourism and sustainable tourism sector. Apart from  producing its own cocoa, KokoMana supports  local communities in cocoa growing. By buying their  cocoa, a source of income is provided  for many remote communities on Vanua Levu.
